Marking its silver jubilee, Bangladesh’s largest IT market, BCS Computer City in Agargaon, Dhaka, is hosting the “City IT Mega Fair 2024.” The fair offers gifts, discounts, and prizes on selected tech purchases. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. for the next five days, entry to the fair is free for all visitors.
University of Dhaka student Hasan Adib, one of many young visitors, is exploring options for a new laptop, comparing features and gathering information on discounts from various brands. Other attendees mentioned they are taking advantage of the fair’s exclusive offers and gifts.
The event was inaugurated by former BCS president and Daffodil Group Chairman, Md. Sabur Khan. During the opening, presided over by BCS Computer City Management Committee President A. L. Mazhar Imam Chowdhury, remarks were also made by Ryan’s IT Ltd. Managing Director Ahmed Hasan, Smart Technologies (BD) Ltd. Managing Director Md. Zahirul Islam, Global Brand PLC Director Mohammad Jasim Uddin Khondker, United Computer Center Managing Partner Sarwar Mahmud Khan, and BIJF Vice President Bhuiyan Enam Lenin.
Md. Sabur Khan expressed that the fair connects young tech enthusiasts with modern technology, enhancing awareness of the rapidly evolving tech market. Chowdhury added that BCS Computer City has been instrumental in developing the country’s computer market for over two decades, now offering high-quality products and exceptional customer service with attractive deals.
Fair Coordinator Md. Mahbubur Rahman noted that the IT marketplace began its journey at IDB Bhaban in 1999 with a grand fair. Initially planned for September 11, this year’s fair was rescheduled due to the current circumstances. He highlighted the event as the largest private-sector tech fair in Bangladesh, expressing confidence in its potential to attract customers.
Gratitude was extended to participating brands, including ASUS, MSI, Dahua, Gigabyte, HP, Hikvision, Lenovo, and Smart Technologies (BD) Ltd.
