For the first time, Bangladesh is introducing an electric power tiller to its agricultural market, launched by Farmers Market Asia in partnership with Casetex. This innovative machinery, powered by a solar battery solution as an alternative to conventional electric three-wheeler batteries, was unveiled on Sunday at the BEVMEX 2024 International Exhibition on Electric Vehicles and Mobility Industry in Dhaka. Casetex displayed various electric vehicles, including their power tiller with a battery-swapping network, as part of the event.
To bring this advanced agricultural technology to the local market, Casetex’s Co-founder and CTO, Gopal Kumar Mohat, and Farmers Market Asia’s Founder and Managing Director, Tarikul Islam, signed a memorandum of understanding. Also in attendance were Casetex’s Co-founder and Head of Business Unit, Tausif Anwar; Co-founder and CEO, Ahmad Ad, and Farmers Market Asia’s Head of Strategy, Monzur Rakib Bhuiyan.
During the event, it was highlighted that Casetex’s Advanced Dynamics EV Research Center developed the power tiller with a high-efficiency electric motor as a replacement for traditional fossil fuel-driven models. This new electric tiller reduces farmers’ fuel costs by 60% and offers continuous operation through its battery-swapping feature. By transforming existing diesel-powered tillers, this solution aims to capture a global market worth 800 billion BDT.
