The interim government, formed after the student-led uprising, has appointed new vice-chancellors to Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET), Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU), Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib Science and Technology University (BSFMSTU), and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University (BDU).
Separate notifications issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education on Monday, October 21, confirmed the appointments. The notifications were signed by Deputy Secretary Ms. Roksana Begum on behalf of the President.
Professor M. Enamulllah, from the Chemistry Department of Jahangirnagar University, has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) for a term of four years.
Meanwhile, Professor Dr. Mohammad Roknuzzaman, from the Fisheries Science Department of Dhaka University, has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib Science and Technology University (BSFMSTU) for a four-year term.
On the same day, the government also appointed a new Vice-Chancellor for Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University (BDU). Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf, from the Institute of Information Technology at Jahangirnagar University, has been named as the new Vice-Chancellor of the university.
