Project Tomorrow has launched a web application and mobile app called “July Protest” to preserve the events, videos, images, and information related to the July Revolution.
The app was officially unveiled on Wednesday, October 16, at the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) by Shariful Islam Taposh, Founder and CEO of Project 2morrow. The event was also attended by Aminul Islam ( Work for International NGO’s ); Faiaz Zaman ( Active Protestor and Dhaka University student ); Nakibul Hasan Antor, coordinator of the July Protest movement, and Rahat Hossain, among others.
At the launch, Taposh stated, “To immortalize the July Revolution, soaked in the blood of students and the people, Project Tomorrow has developed the ‘July Protest’ platform for the public. The platform gathers news from the most intense moments of the uprising, the number of martyrs, videos, pictures of revolutionaries, and the countless graffiti painted across the city by youth celebrating the victory and their determination to rebuild the nation. Initially, we have used significant news outlets, YouTube, and Facebook as our sources of information.”
He added that the mobile app is already available on Google Play Store and will soon be accessible on the Apple App Store. Taposh urged the public to upload any pictures, graffiti, videos, or important news links related to the July Revolution to the July Protest platform, to ensure that this generation and future ones can visualize the events of the uprising. “We hope that the July Uprising will continue to inspire freedom-loving people around the world as a beacon of resistance against tyranny,” he said. Project Tomorrow also paid tribute to all the martyrs and those injured in the July Uprising.
