The Department of Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE) at Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET), Gazipur, recently organized an “Alumni Reunion, Freshers’ Reception, and Farewell Ceremony.”
The event commenced at 9 a.m. on Friday, with a grand opening marked by the release of pigeons and balloons by the esteemed Head of the IPE Department, Professor Dr. Md. Moinul Islam. Following this, a departmental rally and a tree plantation program were held.
The day’s events also included a CAD competition for the department’s students.
At 2:30 p.m., a reception for new students and a farewell for departing students took place at the Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Auditorium, where the outgoing students were presented with crests. The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Dr. Arefin Kawsar, graced the occasion as the chief guest. During the event, Professor Dr. Md. Moinul Islam introduced the newly formed IPE Alumni Committee.
Current students expressed that this alumni network will serve as a bridge between former and current students, offering support for both academic and professional growth.
Former students urged the current students to take an active role in maintaining the alumni activities to ensure its continued success.
