Banglalink, the country’s innovative digital operator, has received another prestigious award from an international platform. At the GSMA’s M360 Asia Pacific event, Banglalink was honored with the “Excellence in Digital Inclusion Award” for its campaign “MyBL Super App: Revolutionizing Healthcare in Rural Bangladesh.”
The announcement was made during the GSMA’s annual flagship event, the “M360 APAC Digital Nations Awards,” held in Seoul, South Korea. On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, the award was accepted by Hande Asik, Group Director of Strategy and Communications at Banglalink’s parent company, Veon.
Commenting on the award, Taimur Rahman, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer of Banglalink, stated, “We are committed to empowering marginalized communities and providing necessary solutions to bridge the digital divide in the country. As an innovative digital operator, Banglalink will continue to work tirelessly to bring sustainable digital solutions to the people of Bangladesh through technology, so we can add new dimensions to our customers’ lives and enhance their experiences.”
The “Digital Nations Award” recognizes the contributions of organizations in accelerating digital transformation in various countries through mobile technology. This year, projects were submitted from 11 countries, including Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Previously, Banglalink won the “Sustainability Excellence Initiative” award in the Disaster Response category at the Bangladesh Sustainability Excellence Awards 2023. The MyBL Super App integrated early warning systems for cyclone preparedness during Cyclone Mocha.
