The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has inaugurated an e-Return Service Center to assist taxpayers in filing their income tax returns online. Taxpayers can now visit this center to submit any issues related to e-Returns in writing through the eTax Service option. Additionally, taxpayers can call 09643717171 during working days from 9 AM to 5 PM for immediate assistance with their e-Return queries.
The e-Return Service Center was inaugurated on Monday (September 23) morning at the NBR headquarters in Agargaon by NBR Chairman Mohammad Abdur Rahman Khan and Mr. Michal Krejza, Head of Cooperation for the European Union in Bangladesh.
All NBR members and other senior officials were present at the inauguration ceremony.
During the event, the NBR Chairman stated that all NBR transactions will be digitized to ensure that taxpayers receive prompt and quality services. According to the United Nations e-Government Development Services Index, Bangladesh has recently advanced 11 positions, surpassing the South Asian and global averages, achieving the highest E-Government Development Index among LDC countries. The NBR will continue to work toward digital transformation in the coming months, with the e-Return Service Center being a part of this initiative.
Mr. Michal Krejza expressed gratitude to the NBR for the successful implementation of the e-Return system and reiterated the EU’s commitment to continued support in establishing this service center.
This new service center will facilitate taxpayers in filing their returns and ensuring tax compliance through the e-Return system. The center is being operated with the assistance of the European Union’s Public Financial Management Program.
