Professor Dr. Dr. Md. Anwarul Azim has been appointed as the new vice-chancellor of Maulana Bhasani Science and Technology University (MBSTU). He is the former Chairman of Dhaka University (DU) Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and President of Dhaka University Teachers Club. He has been appointed to this position on deputation.
After his appointment, he will remain on campus full-time as the chief executive officer of the university.
He was appointed in a notification issued by the Secondary and Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education. By order of the President, the Deputy Secretary Mosammat Rokhsana Begum signed this notification on Wednesday (September 18).
According to the notification, as per section 10(1) of the Maulana Bhasani Science and Technology University Act, 2001, with the approval of the President and Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Azim Akhand has been appointed as Vice-Chancellor of Maulana Bhasani Science and Technology University.
According to the terms of his appointment, his tenure will be four years from the date of joining as the post of Vice-Chancellor. He will get salary equivalent to his present post. And will enjoy other benefits as per rules. However, the President and Chancellor can cancel this appointment at any time if necessary.
