Mobile operator Robi Axiata Limited has won the gold medal at the 24th ICAB National Awards in the Communication and Information Technology category this year. And Grameenphone Limited won the Silver Award and Genex Infosys Limited won the Bronze Award.
Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, a telecom and technology company, also won the silver award in the manufacturing category.
On Tuesday (September 10) in the capital’s Hotel Sonagaon, the prize was handed over to the representatives of the winning companies by Science and Technology and Finance and Trade Adviser Dr. Saleh Uddin Ahmed. Robi’s Finance Division Executive Vice President Mohammad Anwar Hossain and Vice President Mohammad Moin Uddin Riad were present on behalf of Robi along with Robi’s Chief Financial Officer M Riaz Rasheed.
On the other hand, Grameenphone’s DGM Moshiur Rahman Jewel accepted the award.
Finance Department Secretary Dr. Md. Khairuzzaman Majumdar, Commerce Secretary Mohd Salim Uddin and National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman Md. Abdur Rahman Khan were present in the event presided by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) President Mohammad Forkan Uddin.
Chairman of Review Committee for Published Accounts and Reports (RCPAR) of ICAB Md. Humayun Kabir and co-chairman Md. Moniruzzan gave a speech highlighting the best report selection process.
A total of 22 organizations were awarded in the three categories of Best Presented Annual Report, Integrated Report and Corporate Governance Disclosures. Also 8 institutes were given ‘Merit’ award.
76 organizations submitted their financial report 2023 to ICAB for nomination in this competition. The three best reports in each sector from the winning institutions will be sent for nomination to the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) competition held within the SAARC countries.
In the competition, Bank Asia PLC and Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC jointly won the Gold Award and City Bank PLC won the Silver Award and BRAC Bank PLC and United Commercial Bank PLC jointly won the Bronze Award. Also, IPDC Finance Limited won the Gold Award and IDLC Finance PLC won the Bronze Award.
