The ‘Mangal Barta’ team of Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) has been felicitated as the runner-up in the International Robotics Competition held in Ankara, Turkey. The team members recounted their experience of the competition at this reception at the MIST campus.
During this, the winners highlighted their goals and plans to become champions in the future. The reception was celebrated as a proud moment for the MIST family and served as a source of inspiration for the team members.
Commandant of MIST, all deans and heads of departments along with senior officers, teachers, parents of ‘Mangal Barta’ team members and students were present on the occasion.

This information was informed in a press release sent by the Directorate of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Sunday (September 8).
According to ISPR, the team achieved runner-up honors in the highly competitive ARC-2024 held from July 17 to 21 in Ankara, Turkey. 21 teams participated in this competition. More than two hundred contestants participated in the final stage of the competition. In which each team completed four missions on Mars, the Moon and Earth-like terrain.
Team Mangal Barta is the robotics team of the Bangladesh Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST). Formed in 2013, the team consists of faculty and students of Computer Science and Engineering and Mechanical Engineering departments. Since its establishment, the team has been working towards presenting the university both in national and international stages. For that purpose, in 2022, the Mars Rover Phoenix 2.0 robot made by this team won the 3rd place in the International Rover Challenge. This time, they progressed one step further.
