Prof. Dr. H. M. Zakir Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of Jashore university of Science and Technology-JUST has been vested the responsibility of the financial and administrative affairs of the University temporarily. This information was conveyed in a circular signed by Engineer Md. Ahsan Habib, JUST Registrar, this Sunday afternoon.
The notice signed by Registrar Engineer Md. Ahsan Habib said, “As per the Dean’s Council of this University today on 01.09.2024 AD, it has been decided that, during the absence of Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Treasurer of Jessore University of Science and Technology, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of the University Dr. H. M. Zakir Hossain has been assigned temporarily to take charge of the financial and administrative responsibility”.
Professor Dr. H. M. Zakir Hossain is currently serving as the Chairman of the Department of Petroleum and Mining Engineering (PME) in addition to his duties as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of the University. He completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Department of Geology and Mining, Rajshahi University, and completed his Master’s and PhD degrees from Seamane University, Japan. Later, he completed his post-doc at the Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute, University of Tokyo, Japan. He joined JUST PME Department as an Assistant Professor in 2010. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2017 and Professor in the same department in May 2021. He has published more than 55 research articles in various research periodicals of the world. Besides, he participated in more than 50 national and international level research conferences.
