British multinational consumer goods company Unilever will take over the logistics services of Bangladesh’s B-to-B marketplace and smart distribution platform PriyoShop. As the company’s ‘exclusive partner’ in Bangladesh, from now on all products produced at the Unilever factory at Kaliakoir in Gazipur district will be delivered through PriyoShop’s own logistics.
Ashikul Alam Khan, CEO and founder of PriyoShop said, “Since its inception, PriyoShop has been improving the business standards of small and medium entrepreneurs and working with more than 240 brands to meet their needs. Due to its long working time, PriyoShop noticed that domestic and foreign brands in the country’s market are mostly suffering from their supply chain problems and are struggling to deliver their services to all parts of the country. Due to this, the consumers of the country are not getting their desired products. As a result, brands are losing their customers as well as the domestic market. Which is harmful for domestic small and medium entrepreneurs. To solve this problem PriyoShop has started nationwide distribution, through which every brand will be able to deliver their services to every region of the country.”
Global FMCG giant Unilever has 22 brands of products available in Bangladesh. Apart from Unilever, PriyoShop serves companies like Square, Marico, Ajinomoto, Pushti, Roopchanda, New Zealand Dairy. PriyoShop plans to expand its business to 51 new cities by 2024 and add 1 lakh small merchants to its platform.
