Undergraduate first year classes for the academic year 2023-24 in GST-affiliated universities will begin from September 1. Before this, the students who are subject in the third stage merit list will have to confirm the initial admission through the GST website on August 19 and 20 without going to the university in person.
This decision was taken in the 18th meeting of the Integrated Admission Test Committee of GST chaired by the Vice Chancellor of Jessore University of Science and Technology and GST Integrated Admission Test Committee Convener Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain.
At the beginning of the meeting held on August 16 through online platform Zoom, all the participants prayed for the salvation of the students who were martyred in the anti-discrimination student movement. At the same time, deep condolences were extended to their bereaved families. So far, those injured and undergoing treatment are wished for a speedy recovery. They also congratulated the interim government led by the Nobel laureate professor Dr Muhammad Yunus formed through the upsurge on August 5, 2024.
On August 14, the Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) requested to take quick action to complete the remaining activities of the batch admission test as soon as possible in order to keep the educational life of the students seeking admission uninterrupted. In this context, the meeting of GST Integrated Admission Committee was held. It was informed in the meeting that the students who are subject to the third stage can guarantee initial admission by paying Tk 5000 online by logging into the GST website through their respective ID and password from 12 noon on Monday (19 August) to 12pm on Tuesday 20th August. Later, if the official and academic activities are completely normal, the decision will taken to admit the students finally by submitting the necessary original documents and the final admission fee as per the instructions of the respective universities.
