Mohammad Munir Chowdhury, Director General of National Museum of Science and Technology-NMST, urged young scientists to use drones and robotics technology to uncover and prevent cases of hiding illegal money, paying bribes, stealing or embezzling gas, electricity and government resources.
On Wednesday (14 August, 2024 AD) in the auditorium of the museum, he made this call to the young students and young scientists present at the science Olympiad and quiz competition organized with the young scientists of science clubs from different parts of the country.
He said, “You have brought a revolutionary change in the country by shedding blood with a revolutionary spirit. Nation is grateful to you. Now you have to concentrate on the practice of knowledge and science to manage the state, restore the economy and establish good governance. The young generation is now the driving force to establish Bangladesh in the seat of dignity with the power of scientific innovation and integrity.
He also said that the science museum is sponsoring the science clubs in the remote areas of the country and the clubs should organize science fairs and various science related competitions in their respective areas. A separate Innovation Corner can be set up in the Deputy Commissioner’s office to preserve and display the best scientific innovations of the district by creating new innovations. Above all, the practice of science must be accompanied by the practice of ethics, only then will your life be meaningful, your achievements sustainable.”
Later, prizes were awarded to 6 winners of the senior and junior groups in the Olympiad and certificates were awarded to 14 newly registered science clubs. It should be mentioned that 277 Science Clubs have been registered with the Science Museum so far.
