The parliamentary committee has recommended the Ministry of Railway to levy a fine and take legal action against the online ticketing platform Shohoz.com due to non-implementation of the full agreement. This recommendation was made in the meeting of the Standing Committee on Railway Ministry of the Jatiya Sangsad (National Parliament) on Wednesday (July 31) at Sangsad Bhaban chaired by the Committee President ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury.
Committee members Railway Minister Md. Jillul Hakim, Shafiqul Islam Shimul, Shamim Osman, Iftikhar Uddin Talukder Pintu, Muhammad Saiful Islam, Md. Shafiqur Rahman and Nurun Nahar Begum participated in the meeting. In the meeting, due to non-implementation of the full agreement of the ministry with Shohoz.com, it was recommended to collect fine and take necessary legal action against them. At the same time, it was recommended in the meeting to settle the cases of the Ministry by creating the post of Chief Law Officer and appointing contractual law officers.
In the meeting the Committee unanimously recommended the suspension of Additional Director General (Rolling Stock) Partho Sarkar due to negligence and irregularities in duty.
The Secretary of Railway Ministry, Director General, concerned officials of the Ministry and Bangladesh National Parliament Secretariat were present in the meeting.
