The agitating students started graffiti drawing program on the wall of the main gate of the university from 5 pm on Sunday (July 28).
Students painted graffiti on the main gate of the campus (Shaheed Rudra Toran). Faisal Hossain, one of the coordinators of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement of Shahjalal University, said that this protest graffiti painting is going on after buying paint and brush with 7 to 8 thousand taka collected by the students themselves. Students from various institutions including Sylhet Metropolitan University, Northeast University and Blue Bird School and College participated in it.
Among them, the picture of the deceased Abu Saeed standing with a stick in his hand and pulling his chest is written, “There are storms in my heart, shoot through my heart”. In addition, they wrote in protest slogans on the streets, “This is the spirit of the liberation war that the state does not belong to anyone’s dad”; ‘Hamar Betak Marlu kane?’ (Why have you killed my son?); We want justice; If students were afraid of gunshots, Urdu would be the state language; When the country will be set free, we will roam on the rooftop again; Who are you, who am I, we are the alternative option; The iron cap eats the brains of men; Martyr of merit; I wanted to be Metrorail, God made me a student’ etc.
Wall writings and graffiti reflects the demands like the withdrawal of cases against students, the release of missing persons, the opening of halls and campuses, and nationwide protests against student killings.
