Chief of Army Staff General Waqar-uz-Zaman said that the anarchy caused the loss of life and property in the country. The army has been deployed to protect and provide security to those. I think a normal situation has returned within 48 hours of the deployment of the army.
But if we all work together, hopefully the situation will be normal very soon.
The army chief expressed his optimism while speaking in a press conference after inspecting the activities of the army personnel deployed to control the law-and-order situation in different parts of the capital including Jatrabari and various affected establishments.
The press conference was held in front of Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium in the capital on Monday (July 22).
Army chief Waqar-uz-Zaman said, “Not only the army, but also the air force and navy were active with us.”
Police played an important role. Together with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Ansar Bahini, we are moving towards a beautiful normal situation.
While asked how long it will take for the situation to normalize, the army chief said some time will have to be given. Army has been deployed only 48 hours ago.
If we all work together, hopefully the situation will be normalized very soon. Everyone’s cooperation is needed for this.
The army chief said, in this situation, the media workers have cooperated with the law enforcement and security forces by publishing news with great responsibility. I hope you will act more responsible like this. The people, the media, the law and order and the security forces, we all want to take the country back to a normal place.
We are working towards that goal. If we all work together, we can surely get back to normal life very soon.
