A seminar was held on Monday, July 15, 2024 on ‘Scientific Diet and Good Health’ for all the officers and employees of Science Museum at Agargaon in the capital. Apart from Director General of the National Museum of Science and Technology-NMST Mohammad Munir Chowdhury, Senior Curator Suklan Bachhar, Chief Display Officer Md Khaybar Rahman and Curator Masudur Rahman spoke at the seminar.
Speaking as the chief guest, Director General of NMST said, “There is no alternative to scientific diet for good health. Foods, rich in oil and fat should be avoided. It is very healthy and scientific not to stuff stomach with food, what the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said 1500 years ago is scientifically recognized today. To stay disease-free, make a habit of eating black cumin seeds daily, which act as natural antioxidants. Use of burnt oil for cooking should be stopped. Mustard oil or olive oil (zaytun) should be used in cooking, which is much healthier.”
Mohammad Munir Chowdhury also said, “Many harmful waste materials are used in the production of vegetables or fish, which are causing serious health risks.” Vegetables should be soaked in water for at least one hour before cooking to avoid the effects of pesticides. It is healthy to eat vegetables with peels like gourd, banana, papaya etc. to protect health. Gourd has many nutritional properties. But first of all, everyone has to ensure honest earning or halal sustenance. Halal food is the source of happiness, peace and health protection”.
