Grameenphone has launched the gpfi router to provide mobile broadband services on its own network. gpfi is a WiFi service powered by Grameenphone that offers unlimited, uninterrupted WiFi. The operator intends to provide 5G services through this. State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak officially inaugurated the service at Hotel La Meridien in the capital on Monday.
Palak said, Smart Bangladesh has unfolded infinite possibilities in front of us in Bangladesh. Modern telecommunication network was established by the hands of Bangabandhu. By dint of the bold visionary decision of the Prime Minister, 7 lakh freelancers are now capable to earning from home at places like Dayal Barman in Panchagarh, YouTube village in Kushtia. Writing success stories is now possible. Recently mobile operators can also provide broadband internet services due to the unify license guidelines for operators. gpfi has the ability to provide wireless internet services from a minimum of 20 Mbps to 100 Gbps.

“We want Grameenphone to increase investment to improve customer service. Because we want to provide quality services at affordable prices’ – added the state minister. Palak said, if there is an effort for the development of the people, the operators will not be thrown into the water with their hands tied. I will put them on the boat and raise the sail.”
In the event, the top officials of the respective departments Chief Executive Officer, Grameenphone, Mohammad Sajjad Hasib, Chief Marketing Officer, Abul Kasem Mohiuddin Al-Amin, Head of Network Services, Moinul Momen, Head of Adjacent Network Business Innovation, discussed in detail about gpfi.
They said that there are three unlimited packages in gpfi. Home users can connect up to 10 devices unlimitedly. There will be parental controlling. Two routers have been brought for this. The price of one is 4 thousand and the other is 7 thousand.

Grameenphone CEO Yasir Azman said on the occasion: Internet is a blessing for women. By using the power of the Internet, the people of the village are becoming financially independent at home. Our network is present in 99 percent of the country. Grameenphone has 8.5 million users. We are now using AI Networks. It is not to save cost but to improve service quality. Yesterday I observed the use of AI in Mymensingh. It’s really amazing.
