Fifty some teams from different countries of the world participated in the Halt Prize Bangkok 2024 summit held at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. Among them, two members of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University-BDU, team of educators Md. Ayman Asif and KM Badruddoza participated in the competition with innovative work for children with special needs. They are students of Education Technology Department of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University, Bangladesh.
The summit will be held from June 21 and will continue up to June 24.
Team EduAssist has been working for a long time in the education of underprivileged children and communities with special needs. This team won the Hult Prize on Campus Local Competition held at BDU on 18 February 2024 and successfully participated in the Hult Prize Bangkok Summit-2024.
Earlier, “Team EduAssist” successfully participated in the International Higher Education Teaching Learning Conference-2023 held at University of Everdeen, Scotland under the title “Re-Imagining Education: Collaboration and Compassion” and received a grant of Tk 10 lakh in Bangabandhu Innovation Grant-BIG.
Out of 10,000 teams from 100+ countries that launched the competition in early 2024, only 360 startups got the opportunity to participate in the various regional summits of Hult Prize 2024.
It should be noted that ‘Hult Prize is called the world’s largest business venture competition. Co-hosted by the United Nations and the Bill Clinton Foundation. The American media “Huffington Post” named this competition “Nobel Prize for Students”. Every year, at the call of former US President Bill Clinton, many students jump to solve a specific problem due to this competition. The winning team is awarded 1 million US dollars (about Tk 11 crore) for solving the problem and creating a business opportunity from that solution.
Along with the university as a sponsor, TechShopBD, one of online shops of Bangladesh for robotics and electronic components, has supported Team EduAssist in traveling the team to Thailand to participate in the Hult Prize Bangkok Summit-2024. They expressed their gratitude and thanks to the Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr. Muhammad Mahfuzul Islam for his all-out cooperation and guidance. They also thanked TechShopBD for supporting “Team EduAssist” to travel to Thailand. At the same time, they expressed gratitude to Md. Ashrafuzzaman. TechShopBD also thanked the respected teachers of the university for their support.
