A review meeting on the implementation progress of the Revised Annual Development Program (RADP) up to the May 2023-24 financial year of the Information and Communication Technology Division was held at the conference room of the Information and Communication Technology Division on Monday. The Minister of State for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak was connected online as the chief guest in the meeting.
The meeting was presided over by the Secretary of Information and Communication Technology Division Md. Shamsul Arefin while Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, Bangladesh Computer Council, Directorate of Information and Communication Technology and various heads of various organizations under the department and various project managers were present.
In the meeting, the implementation plan of the projects undertaken in the current financial year of the ICT Division, the achievement of monthly physical and financial targets, the decisions taken and the issues related to recruitment of manpower were discussed in detail.
In the meeting, skills development of mobile games and applications, ICT infrastructure of the National Parliament Secretariat, online education for initiation-skill development, Learning and Earning Development (2nd Revised), Aspire to Innovate (a2i) program, establishment of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Academy, through research and development Bengali Language Enrichment, Digital Sylhet City, Secure E-mail for Bangladesh Government, BGD E-Gov CIRT Capacity Building, Video Conferencing Platform Strengthening, Connected Bangladesh, CA Monitoring of CCA Offices, Setting up of IT/Hi-Tech Parks at District Level, Sheikh Russell Digital Lab, Info Sarkar-3 Project, Supporting Infrastructure Construction Project of Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City-2, Project for Establishing Information Technology Network in Remote Areas, Project for Establishing Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Hi-Tech Park Rajshahi (2nd Revised) Project, Leveraging ICT for Employment and Growth of the IT-IT ES Industry Project, Skill Development Project of IT Engineers for Japanese IT Sector, Digital Literacy Center Establishment Project, Digital Security Agency Establishment and Necessary Infrastructure Development, SHIFT Project, Digital Connectivity Project Financial and physical progress of all other projects were discussed in detail. Organization heads and project managers presented their respective project implementation plans and latest progress in the meeting.
It was informed in the meeting that the implementation progress of the projects of the ICT Division till May 2024 is 87.47 percent.
It may be noted that in the current financial year, 2 thousand 120 crore 81 lakh taka have been allocated for a total of 26 projects including 2 technical ones under the ICT Division.
The Minister of State directed the project manager and the concerned to ensure the progress of the projects quickly while maintaining the quality according to the work plan and complete the work on time. Project managers commit to completing projects within the stipulated time.
