Freelancers Meetup was held in Mymensingh with various problems faced by freelancers regularly and their solutions. The meetup was organized at BRAC Learning Center in the city. More than 75 freelancers from the region participated in the event and discussed their problems and effective solutions.
Organized jointly by Mobile Financial Services and United Commercial Bank (UCB) PLC under the theme ‘Freelancers Contribution to Building Smart Bangladesh and MFS as Growth Facilitator’, the event highlighted various issues related to freelancing such as payment-related issues in banking channels and lack of recognition of work.
Three freelancers highlight their problems solutions. They emphasized the implementation of Smart Bangladesh goals and mentioned the role of banks and MFS service providers in supporting freelancers.
It was announced at the event that UCB’s Independent Account has been launched with the aim of providing complete banking solutions to freelancers; It is an easy way to receive money seamlessly. Besides, UCB-Upay has come up with co-branded prepaid cards. Freelancers will get access to foreign currency transaction funds, merchant payments (online and offline) and ATM facilities at home and abroad through this card. They can accept payments from Payoneer and withdraw money using the Upay account at the lowest cashout cost. All these special features are contributing to make the life of freelancers more comfortable and easier.
Earlier similar meetups were held at UCB Head Office, Kushtia and Cumilla.
