Out of 123, a total 12 disabled people were awarded in 4 categories in the 8th National IT competition held at BUBT University campus in Mirpur, capital Dhaka, with the participation of disabled youth. In the visually impaired category, Md Al Mani Mostakim Tahsani of Gaibandha was the first, Md Nashim of Jhenaidah was second and Md Rafat Karim of Dhaka was the third.
In the physically challenged category, Md Yasin Khandkar Iman of Rajshahi became first, Mosammat Swarna Khatun of Pabna became second and Md Abdul Hamid of Sherpur became third. Similarly, in speech and hearing-impaired category, Md Atiqur Rahman of Dhaka became the first, Zahekun Nahar of Dhaka became second and Rashid Ifti of Mamunur of Dhaka got third position. Finally, Wajih Tauseef Rayat of Dhaka stood first, Billah Khan of Asrar, Dhaka became second and Raihan Hossain of Dhaka came out as third in the NDD category. Winners got smartphone, certificate and crest as prizes. Out of the 12 winners, the best 4 will be screened to participate in the international competition to be held in Dubai in coming October.

BCC Executive Director (Grade-1) Ranjit Kumar, BUBT University Board of Trustee Chairman Md. Shamshul Huda, CSID Executive Director Khandkar Jahurul Alam spoke at the event. The event was presided over by BUBT Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Fayyaz Khan. Md. Zafurul Alam Khan, In-charge Director of Training and Development Branch of BCC delivered his welcome speech.
The competition was held on Saturday in collaboration with Center for Services and Information on Disability (CSID) and Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT). The competition was organized by Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under Information and Communication Technology Division.
