State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak expressed his satisfaction about the matter of earning 2 million dollars from the ICT sector; he also expressing his agreement with the proposal given by the private sector. But he said, I will blame the University Grants Commission for the failure in developing curriculum. Despite so many changes came in the last 15 years, Cyber Security has not yet been included in any university curriculum except AI, MIST.
The state minister also expressed apprehension that our human resources will become unemployed in the future if the resource pool of skilled human resources is not formed in the field of AI and frontier technology.
He said, a group of young people of the country made my voice speech using AI. It is a fear on the one hand, and a possibility on the other. That’s why he challenged them to make videos with AI. He also talked about NBR to update the digitization and procurement act.
Palak requested NBR to take care of ducks that laid golden eggs.
He shared these points while speaking as the special guest at the Investment Climate for Smart Bangladesh round table meeting held at the ballroom of Dhaka Sheraton Hotel in Banani on Sunday in the afternoon.
Expressing consensus on the proposal given by the private sector, the State Minister for Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, “I request the chief guest to implement the logical demand of continuing the ongoing tax holiday and policy benefits. He can think of current and future business needs like a youth. So, I believe if he takes this responsibility, we will be able to collect this demand from the Prime Minister.
Kazi Nabil Ahmed, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, said that there is no alternative to knowledge-based economy to build a smart Bangladesh. To make technology dependent we need to make competent smart citizens. To move to the next step, we have to jump through two-three steps at once.
Member of Parliament Zara Mahbub, referring to herself as part of the backward community, said that smart health is an important part of smart government. There is an opportunity to ensure women’s health security through digitization. Therefore, women’s participation in this field needs to be increased. But only 19 percent women work in our 999.
