Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expects that our women will advance through the use of modern technology in the era of the fourth industrial revolution. She said that ‘Tathya Apa‘ project is working to bring various services to the hands of women in remote areas using information technology. At the same time initiatives are being taken to evaluate women’s labor and contribution to the national economy in domestic work.
The PM conveyed these matters in a message given on the occasion of ‘International Women’s Day’ on Friday, March 8.
Referring to the day as a glorious day in the history of women’s movement, Sheikh Hasina said that women had earned their rights by speaking out against long working hours and wage discrimination. Women have contributed to all the progress and development of civilization through the ages with their talent and labor.
The Prime Minister said that since 2009, Awami League has been continuously working to ensure the equal participation of men and women in every work after receiving the responsibility of running the government. Investments and gender-responsive financing are being promoted to achieve gender equality and women’s empowerment in the global context. Various initiatives have been taken by the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs to advance women in the economic, social and political context of Bangladesh and to build a better, smart Bangladesh by 2041.
Expecting that our women will move forward through the use of modern technology in the era of the fourth industrial revolution; the Prime Minister said, with the combined efforts of all the men and women of the country, we will build a hunger and poverty-free and advanced-rich ‘golden Bangladesh’ of the father of the nation’s dream by 2041, Insha’Allah.
