The process of uploading all judgments and orders of Bangladesh Supreme Court online is ongoing. E-filing process of the cases has already started. The court aspirants are getting the opportunity to read in Bengali through English language judgment apps written on the website. Judges have also started writing judgments in Bengali. This is how the government is working to establish a smart judiciary, said Prime Minister Sheikha Hasina.
The prime minister conveyed the message while speaking at the closing ceremony of the two-day international conference on ‘South Asia’s 21st Century Constitutional Court: India-Bangladesh Experience’ on Saturday (February 24).
The conference was held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre. As chief guest at the opening ceremony of the conference, Sheikh Hasina said, the government has launched online cause list in the Supreme Court, online bail confirmation program for the subordinate courts through the digital transformation of the judiciary. As a result, ordinary litigants can now access many important court services using information technology. Judges of subordinate courts can also upload their judgments directly online.
She also said that now the judicial system has become very fast. Cases are less tangled. People are getting swift justice. We are trying to make judiciary smart from digital.
Sheikh Hasina said, I want the people of my country to get justice. Let them not have to suffer because of injustice as we did. Let them get justice and ensure the democratic rights and economic-social and cultural rights of the people of the country. May Bangladesh move forward and may India-Bangladesh friendship be eternal.
The Chief Justice of India Dr. Dhananjay Jaswant Chandrachud, Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Anisul Haque, Bangladesh Supreme Court Appellate Division Justice M Enayetur Rahim and others spoke at the event while Bangladesh Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan presided over.
Retired Chief Justices, Judges of both Divisions of Bangladesh Supreme Court, Judges of Supreme Court of India and Calcutta High Court, Leaders of Supreme Court Bar Association, Members of Parliament and learned lawyers were present.
