A person named Rafiqul Haque (30) was arrested on Thursday by Mirpur police station on the charge of identity fraud. He took a false identity of Senior Assistant Secretary of National Telecommunication Monitoring Center (NTMC).
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mirpur Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Masuk Miah said that Rafiqul was arrested on the charge of cheating and taking a false identity of Senior Assistant Secretary. Action is being taken against him as per law.
According to police sources, two years ago, Rafiqul Haque worked on a temporary basis in a project of NTMC. He met many people on that basis. But after the completion of the project, he started cheating by making visiting cards in the identity of Senior Assistant Secretary.
Recently, Rafiqul Haque approached a senior police official for legal assistance. On seeing his visiting card, the senior police officer inquired about him from NTMC officials. Later found out, he was a fraud.
