Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina directed the concerned authorities to convert land management into digital system to end social and family problems related to land ownership and ensure hassle-free service.
She said, ‘Land distribution system should be digitized to clarify land ownership and thereby solve family and social problems.’

The Prime Minister said, ‘It is a very common phenomenon in the society that both brothers and sisters deprive each other of their ancestral property, resulting in attacks, killings and clashes.’
She further said, ‘If a proper land management system can be ensured, then the problem will be solved.’
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Her government has taken measures to protect the land ownership of all people staying at home and abroad. No matter where you live in the country or abroad, your (compatriot) property will be yours. We have taken measures to protect and protect your rights.’
“We are creating a digital land system and the problem will no longer exist,” the Prime Minister said, noting that people will not face any hassle while getting land-related services.
At the same event, the Prime Minister launched seven innovative initiatives. These are Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Memorial at Laxmipur and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Guchchhgram Complex, Registration-Mutation Interconnection, Smart Land Map, Smart Land Records, Smart Land Pedia, Smart Land. Apart from this, there are service centers and modern land offices in 400 Upazilas across the country.
She said, ‘Each of the seven initiatives taken by our land ministry will play an important role in building a developed, prosperous and smart Bangladesh.’
The Prime Minister urged all concerned to work with sincerity to provide hassle-free and speedy land-related services to the people.

Land SecretaryMd. Mustafizur Rahman delivered a welcome speech while the Rajbari Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Nurjahan Akhtar Sathi expressed her feelings on behalf of Assistant Commissioners. The Prime Minister reminded the countrymen of the BNP-Jamaat nationwide violence in the name of so-called agitation in 2013-14. They then hurled petrol bombs at vehicles on the roads, burnt people alive and damaged 70 government offices, including six land offices.
The Prime Minister said that the attack on these offices exposed the dilapidated state of land offices across the country. His government has built advanced Upazila land offices with all modern facilities.
She also said, ‘Today I have inaugurated modern land offices in 400 upazilas. BNP-Jamaat clique destroys people’s wealth and Awami League builds it for people’s welfare. Our only aim is to serve the people; our aim is to ensure the peace and prosperity of the countrymen.’
Summarizing her government’s steps to develop a modern, timely and digitized land management system, the Prime Minister said her government has introduced online land registration and DCR and land tax payment system with QR codes.
She said, ‘Countrymen can get land-related services including Namjari, Khatian and land development tax from anywhere in the world by calling 16122 and searching sadhaf.mara.naf.’
The Prime Minister said, ‘Land offices have so far received more than 1.3 lakh phone calls, out of which 6,800 calls came from people staying abroad.
She further said, ‘Anyone can inquire about the status of his land by using his National Identity Card (NID). With the introduction of this system people are getting land related services at the earliest. Complete digitization of land management system will be completed very soon.’
She further said, ‘The introduction of modern system has increased revenue collection from land-related services and 770 crores of revenue has been collected from this sector so far.’

She said, ‘I offer my sincere congratulations to the Land Ministry, as it has brought honor to the country. The government is following the footsteps of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and mechanizing the agricultural system to increase production.
She further said, ‘Bangabandhu made land tax-free up to 25 bighas and immediately after the independence of the country canceled all the certificate cases filed against the farmers, and declared that anyone could own a maximum of 100 bighas and the additional land would be allotted to the landless.’
The Prime Minister urged the countrymen to bring every inch of land under cultivation to increase agricultural production; So that Bangladesh does not have to depend on anyone for food grains.
She further said that due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war, the whole world, including the developed countries, is facing an economic and food crisis.
She said, ‘So we have to increase food production. We no longer want to depend on imports. We are working with the aim of meeting our own needs and exporting surplus food grains to other countries.’
