Abdullah Al Mamun, the Joint Secretary to the Government, has joined the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) as Director General. The Director General of Implementation, Inspection and Evaluation Department under the Ministry of Planning joined BTRC on Thursday morning.
BTRC Chairman (Senior Secretary) Shyam Sundar Sikdar welcomed him with floral greetings when he went to meet the Chairman after joining.
Md. Nurul Hafiz, Secretary of BTRC Secretariat was present at that time.
According to sources, the newly transferred Director General of BTRC’s Administration Department, Delwar Hossain, will be replaced by the new Director General, Abdullah Al Mamun.
At present, Ashish Kumar Kundu in Legal and Licensing, Brigadier General Md. Ehsanul Kabir in Engineering and Operations, Brigadier General Mohammad Moniruzzaman Jewell in Spectrum Department and Brigadier General Md. Nasim Parvez in Systems and Services Department are serving as Director General.
Md. Yakub Ali Bhuiyan in Finance and Accounts and Revenue Department, MA Taleb Hossain has been serving as director in Enforcement and Inspection Directorate.
Engineer Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed has been serving as the vice chairman among the commissioners in BTRC. On the other hand, Abu Syed Dilzar Hossain has been serving as Commissioner since 2020. When KM Shahiduzzaman passed away on January 23 last year while serving as the Commissioner of Wave Management Department, Municipal Councilor Sheikh Riaz Ahmed joined this post. The other commissioner of BTRC is Dhaka University’s management department professor Dr. Mushfiq Mannan Chowdhury.
