The three-day ‘Digital Bangladesh Mela’ 2023 is starting from Thursday at Bangabandhu International Conference Center- BCC in the capital to introduce users to the connectivity highway of Smart Bangladesh with various events like 5G, Robotics, Triple Play and Parental Control. In addition to presenting the technological capabilities of digital Bangladesh and preparations for the Smart Bangladesh journey, various innovations of AI, IoT, robotics, big data and blockchain technology of young innovators will be presented by the Department of Posts and Telecommunications and its partners. There are 52 pavilions, 57 stalls in the open fair. Along with the exhibition, there are 8 seminars. The first national mobile congress will be held on the second day of the fair. There are special arrangements for women and children in the fair. Visitors can enter the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum from the fair by wearing VR glasses.
The Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar presented this information at a press conference held at the media market at the venue of the fair on Wednesday afternoon.
Inviting people to come to the fair, he said that the fair will be inaugurated tomorrow at 10 am through a video speech by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Minister of Education Dr. Deepu Moni will be the Chief Guest in the opening ceremony.
In her speech, the minister requested the journalists to sensitize the common people about the improvement and benefits of life quality through the use of 5G technology at the individual level as well as the industry. He said, postal and telecommunication medals will be circulated from this fair. In 14 categories, 22 individuals and organizations will be awarded medals.
Mustafa Jabbar said, the target of this fair is young people. This will be the last digital fair. We will proceed towards the transformation of Smart Bangladesh on the solid foundation of Digital Bangladesh. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Advisor Sajib Wazed have given importance to 4 issues. These are Smart Citizens, Smart Economy, Smart Government and Smart Society.
In the press conference, Secretary of Post and Telecommunication Department, Abu Hena Morshed Zaman said that smart technology dependent Bangladesh is not a fantasy anymore but a reality. This fair will be green technology and women friendly.
Post and Telecommunication Department Additional Secretary Mahbubul Alam, BTRC Vice Chairman Mohiuddi Ahmed and ISPAB President Imdadul Haque were also present at the press conference.
Huawei is the titanium sponsor of Digital Bangladesh Fair held for the second time. ZTE is the diamond sponsor and ISPAB is the partner.
