Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University- BDU has started the first class of the first year of Bachelor (Honours) class in the academic year 2021-22. On the first day of classes, on January 15, 2023 (Sunday), the new students of the Internet of Things (IoT) and ICT in Education (ICTE) programs were welcomed with flowers by the Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr. Muhammad Mahfuzul Islam, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Mahbubul Alam Zoardar and Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain.
At this time, the university’s vice-chancellor professor Dr. Muhammad Mahfuzul Islam said, “Within the next four years, we want to make BDU one of the best universities in Bangladesh. For that, the manner in which the best internationally recognized universities are run will soon be incorporated in BDU.”
The Vice-Chancellor said that after completing their graduation, the students of BDU can proudly say that I am a graduate of BDU. We are working towards that goal. I am expecting everyone’s cooperation in this regard.
He also said, we are trying to provide industry oriented education to our students. Every subject we have here is useful to build a smart Bangladesh in today’s world. Very soon in our university, we are working to provide degrees to students in subjects like Cyber Security, Game Development, Machine Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering and so on.
In the presence of teachers and fresh students, University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Mahbubul Alam Joardar, Honorable Treasurer Prof. Dr. M. Anwar Hossain, Department Head (Additional Duties) and Assistant Professor Md. Ashrafuzzaman, Chairman of Information and Communication Technology Department. And Assistant Professor Samchuddin Ahmed spoke.
