Two years after overcoming the wrath of Corona, the three-day Digital Bangladesh Fair will be held in Dhaka on January 26-28. ‘Mobile Congress Dhaka’ will be held on the second day of the fair at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital under the theme ‘Bangladesh on the Highway of Technology’.
The fair has been organized by the Department of Posts and Telecommunication. When asked about the fair, the Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar said that postal and telecommunication medals will be awarded for the first time in this fair. The practical requirements of 5G at consumer level will be highlighted. Also, AMTOB, the association of mobile operators earlier wanted to hold a mobile congress in Dhaka, has also been integrated with this digital fair. As a result, this year’s fair is getting a different dimension.
According to sources, ISPAB, the organization of Internet service providers, is implementing this fair in the second phase. But this time, AMTOB, the organization of mobile operators, has newly been added. Apart from this, telecommunication and information technology product suppliers Huawei, ZTE, mobile operators Grameenphone, Robi, Banglalink and Teletalk, state-owned telecommunication company BTCL, Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited are actively involved in the organization of the fair.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Ministry AKM Rahmatullah and BTRC Chairman Shyam Sundar Shikdar will be special guests in the inauguration ceremony which will be presided over by the Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar. ISPAB President Imdadul Haque will deliver the welcome speech.
According to the organizers, the practical issues of how 5G technologies will radically change people’s lives and lead to a smart world will be highlighted in this fair. How the ISP service provider is establishing a discrimination-free society by delivering high-speed internet services at the Upazila level through the implementation of ‘one rate in one country’ will be presented in various events.
Along with the exhibition, 8 seminars will be held. AMTOB is organizing 4 seminars on that topic. The topics of the seminar are being decided by giving priority to the creation of ‘Smart Citizen’ for building Smart Bangladesh. Apart from this, the topics of the seminar will also include the kind of innovation and preparation needed in other fields to build a smart Bangladesh.
