Like 160 countries of the world, Bangladesh is also celebrating ‘Computer Science Education Week 2022’. It is organized to raise awareness of the importance of teaching computer science in schools across the country to all students and to further promote access to computer science education. Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) has taken various programs on this occasion in the second week of December. The event includes a three-day Scratch Programming workshop and BdOSN CodeRace – a competition celebrating Computer Science Education Week 2022.
Organizers said that Computer Science Education Week is celebrated globally in the second week of December every year. And throughout the week, Hour of Code, a one-hour event, is organized to encourage millions of people around the world to take up computer programming. BdOSN has been celebrating Computer Science Education Week along with Hour of Code since 2013.
Students aged 7 to 16 can register for free for this year’s three-day Scratch Programming workshop at this link . Apart from this, students aged 7 to 18 years can also register for free by visiting this link for BdOSN CodeRace – Computer Science Education Week celebration competition 2022.
A three-day scratch programming workshop will be held on December 8, 9 and 10. This workshop will be conducted for two hours from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm every day. Apart from this, on the occasion of the birthday of the world’s first computer programmer, Ada Lovelace, a four-hour long BdOSN CodeRace – Computer Science Education Week celebration competition 2022 will be held on December 10 from 7.00 pm to 11.00 pm. No registration fee is required to register for these two events. These events will be held on the online platform.
This year, Bangladesh Open Source Network, Internet Society Bangladesh Chapter, Computer Services Limited, Bangladesh Science Promotion Society (SPSB), Bangladesh Robot Olympiad, Maksudul Alam Science Lab (MASLab), World Robot Olympiad – Bangladesh and Scratch Bangladesh are jointly celebrating this week.
