Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the garment sector exhibition ‘Made in Bangladesh Week’. The exhibition was inaugurated at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) on Sunday (November 13) morning.
After inaugurating the fair organized by BGMEA for the first time, the Prime Minister said that Bangabandhu took care of Bangladesh’s industry, like a mother takes care of a sick child. He took the initiative to develop foreign investment and trade. When we came to power in 1996, we gave the most importance to the private sector. Open for investment in every sector. From analogue to digital; mobile phones have been delivered to everyone. We provide computer technology education. I started giving loans to the youth.
The Prime Minister also said that the Awami League government has arranged loans without collateral for the youth through the employment bank. Export Development Fund has been created. The government has given financial incentives to the garment industry to deal with the pandemic. Using this opportunity, 9 out of the top 10 garment industries in the world are in Bangladesh.
Referring to the people as the source of the government’s courage, Sheikh Hasina said that Bangladesh is the most suitable place for a win-win situation. So I will tell the businessmen of the country to find your foreign partners. Their technical knowledge can be used in our industry.
Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Farooq Hasan said, Made in Bangladesh Week will be helpful for the reserve.
BGMEA First Vice President Syed Nazrul Islam, Senior Vice President SM Mannan Kochi and Vice President Shahidullah Azim were also present at the program.
Foreign buyers will participate in the week-long exhibition. Apart from branding Bangladesh, BGMEA said that this has been organized to give consumers a clear idea about Bangladesh’s garment sector.

The opening of Dhaka Apparel Expo and 37th World Fashion Convention will be held tomorrow, on Monday. The next day, Tuesday, foreign buyers will be given a tour of Bangladesh’s green industry. Dhaka Apparel Summit and Denim Expo will be inaugurated on the same day. Bangladesh Week will conclude with the inauguration of BGMEA’s Innovation Center on Friday.
