The facility of making outgoing calls to land phones of the state-owned Bangladesh Telecommunications Company (BTCL) has been re-activated. After a long day of suffering, the service became functional on Saturday evening.
According to sources, as the outgoing service was stopped since morning, calls could not be made from BTCL connections to other operator’s phones, especially to Robi and Grameen mobile phones.
In this regard, the managing director of BTCL Dr. Md. Rafiqul Matin said, due to the electricity problem, there was a fault in the rectifier of BTCL access gateway. As a result, outgoing calls could not be made from BTCL’s phone from Saturday morning. But the rectifier was quickly changed. It was switched on in the evening after the rectifier change was done.
