Bangladesh’s leading online marketplace Daraz has organized the ‘Daraz Payment Partner Performance Awards 2022’ in recognition of their continued support of banking and mobile financial services (MFS) for the development of the e-commerce sector. Recently, an award distribution ceremony was organized in the Grand Ballroom of Hotel Sheraton Dhaka.
Daraz Chief Executive Bjarke Mikkelsen, Daraz Bangladesh Managing Director Syed Mostahidal Haque, Chief Operating Officer Khandaker Tasfin Alam and Manjuri Mallick, Director of Technology and Digital Payment and Strategy Department of the organization were present at the award ceremony. Director of Payment System Department of Bangladesh Bank Md. Mejbaul Haq was also present at the event. . Besides, MD, DMD and other senior officers of various banks and financial institutions were present at the prize distribution ceremony.
Various payment partners like mobile phone-based financial service providers are playing an important role in the development of the country’s e-commerce sector. In particular, the role of these payment partners behind Daraz’s growth is undeniable. In recognition of their contribution, Daraz recognized 15 payment partners in various categories through this event.

On the other hand, The City Bank Ltd. was named the Most Valued Partner – Credit Card; BRAC Bank the Most Valued Partner – Debit Card; Best in EMI Growth to Lankabangla Finance Limited; The City Bank Limited as the Most Consistent Partner; Southeast Bank Limited, the Best Acquiring Partner – Gold; Eastern Bank Limited was awarded the Best Acquiring Partner – Silver Award.
Prime Bank Limited and HSBC Bank were recognized as the Best New Entrant; MasterCard and Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited as Best Strategic Partners; Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, United Commercial Bank and Standard Chartered Bank were recognized as Best Organic Customer Growth at the event.
