Last week, LG struck deals with third-party television makers over its WebOS platform. As a result, TVs from companies other than LG will use WebOS. This time, Samsung has also followed the same path.
Samsung has announced the licensing of the Tizen OS TV platform for the first time for non-Samsung televisions. Samsung is partnering with brands like Akai, RCA, Bowen, Lincer, Sunny and Vispera for sales in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Through this new partnership, other television manufacturers will be able to offer Tizen OS features on their televisions, such as Samsung TV Plus (free streaming TV and video platform), Universal Guide and Personalized Recommendations, Samsung Bixby and other voice assistant features.
