The Election Commission- EC has sent a letter to Grameenphone Limited to pay the performance security due to the failure of the Election Commission Secretariat. In the letter, the EC requested Grameenphone Limited to pay the amount of performance security submitted.
Farzana Akhtar, Senior Maintenance Engineer of the Election Commission Secretariat, said that this letter has been given to the South East Bank manager at Grameenphone’s Bashundhara branch to pay the security deposit in favor of the Election Commission. A copy of the letter along with regulatory body BTRC has also been given to Key Account Manager of Grameenphone Md. Mostak Ahmed.
According to the letter issued on July 7, the Election Commission Secretariat has entered into an agreement with Grameenphone Limited for the implementation of ‘Remote Access VPN for ECS’. Grameenphone Limited failed to perform the work on time as per the contract. For this reason, the agreement with Grameenphone Limited has been cancelled.
According to sources, as per the tender rules, Performance Security (SEBS/BASHU/PG/06/2022, dated: 10 February 2022) was submitted by Grameenphone Limited. However, it has been requested in the letter to take necessary measures to pay the total amount of Tk. 84 thousand 240 in favor of the Election Commission Secretary after confiscating it.
