Last year, an Australian woman named Thivamanogari Manivell applied for a refund of 100 Australian dollars (US$68) on the crypto.com platform. But instead, he got 10.5 million Australian dollars or 7.2 million US dollars.
The most surprising thing is that it took them seven long months to find out such a refund.
According to reports, Manivell only asked for a refund of 100 Australian dollars. However, an employee of Crypto.com forgot to input Manivell’s account number in the payment section. As a result, 7.2 million dollars of current market value was refunded to his account.
Although this refund was made in May last year, it was caught during the audit in December, which is about seven calendar months.
Interestingly, after receiving the money, Manivell transferred it to another account. In the same month, he bought a five-bedroom house for 1.35 million Australian dollars and passed it on to his sister. The court quickly ordered the house to be sold and the entire amount with interest to be returned to Crypto.com.
