World famous mobile brand Nokia has appointed Arif Islam as their country head in Bangladesh. The newly appointed country head will lead the Nokia Bangladesh team from the capital city of Dhaka, besides managing Nokia’s business and other operations nationwide.
Arif Islam, who has 17 years of international experience in the ICT and telecommunication industry of Bangladesh, has served as a senior officer in the urban transformation project of Dorin Group in Bangladesh and Melbourne Metro Trains in Australia in the past years. He is going to represent the world renowned Finnish brand Nokia in Bangladesh and leverage the brand’s commercial and technical expertise to further enrich its business.
Commenting on the new responsibilities, Arif Islam said, “Nokia is globally recognized for its innovative strength and success through its Bell Labs for nearly a century. I am very happy to be associated with Nokia. My aim is to improve the quality of telecommunication services as well as use my experience in the enterprise sector to provide the best quality service to new and existing customers in Bangladesh and strengthen Nokia’s business position in the country. Nokia is in full support of Bangladesh Government’s Vision 2041 initiative to create Digital Bangladesh and bring everyone under the technology. Nokia will play a key role in building strong partnerships with telecom operators and expanding 5G services across the country. As Country Head, I look forward to providing proper leadership in all Nokia operations in Bangladesh.”
