In the E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) Executive Council 2022-24 election, the turnout was 77.6 percent. Although, 54 voters are now staying outside the country, 609 out of 795 voters cast their ballots.
Voting began at 10:05 a.m. on Saturday at the Sayeedena Community Center in Dhanmondi and continued until 4:15 p.m. The counting of votes started from 5:30 pm.
Amin Helali, chairman of the election board and vice-president of the FBCCI, broke the seals of the ballot boxes in the presence of two representatives of the candidates, members of the law enforcement team and agents. He was accompanied by two other election board members Abdur Razzak and Bazlur Rahman.
According to sources, 19 votes were cast in the first half hour. Voter turnout was slow before noon. However, at the beginning of the afternoon, the pressure continues to increase. One candidate also voted at the last minute. He lost his voter card and after sitting for an hour, his identity was verified and the vote was taken.
Before the counting began, supporters gathered in front of a computer screen on the ground floor inside the polling station to cast their votes.
795 voters exercised their franchise in the election of this national trade association of online traders of the country. 9 Directors will be elected out of 31 candidates.
Former Education and ICT Secretary Nazrul Islam Khan, members Delwar Hossain Khan Rajib and Harunur Rashid are on the election appeal board.
