For a long time now, there has been a cycle of fraud with hidden and spy devices in various recruitment tests of jobs including primary recruitment tests. This organized clique used to leak various important competitive examination question papers in various public and private sectors. They then used the Hidden Spy Wireless Kit to extort crores of taka from job seekers by assuring them of passing the recruitment test.
On Thursday (May 19), RAB-2 arrested four people from different areas of the capital, including the ringleader of such a ring. The arrested are Iqbal Hossain (42), Ramiz Mridha (30), Nazrul Islam (50) and Modacher Hossain (62). Huge quantities of digital devices have been recovered from them. During the preliminary interrogation, the arrested persons confessed to cheating in the name of job test. Khandaker Al Moin, director of RAB’s law and media branch, confirmed the matter.
He said the group had reached an agreement with a number of job seekers to get jobs in view of the government primary school assistant teacher recruitment test to be held on Friday (May 20). A team of RAB-2 arrested them on the basis of intelligence information.
During the preliminary interrogation, the detainees said that these digital devices brought from abroad are basically divided into two parts. A part of the device is the ear piece. It is placed inside the ears of the examinees. In addition, the other part of the SIM inserted to receive the automatic call was placed in different parts of the body tactfully while entering the test hall. Later, the candidates would send the pictures of the recruitment test question papers to them using various social media. The fraudsters used to have a team of meritorious students ready to answer the question papers. The members of this circle would find out the answers to the question papers sent from the examination hall through a team consisting of meritorious students and tell them to the contracted candidates.
Iqbal Hossain is the mastermind of this fraudulent cycle. He was appointed as an assistant teacher in a government primary school in 2008. While teaching in his hometown of Sirajganj, he met Altaf Hossain, a retired government employee from the same area, in 2015. Iqbal learned this strategy from him. A case under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act and several general diaries have been registered against him at Ullapara police station in Sirajganj district. There is also a murder case in the name of the arrested Ramiz. Iqbal took him on his own cycle as he understands digital devices well. Nazrul, who was arrested, joined the Department of Social Services in 1994 as an office assistant-cum-computer operator. Nazrul and Ramiz’s house as well. While working, Nazrul developed good relations with people from different parts of the country. On this occasion, he promised to give jobs to people in different parts of the country and would make the common people contact Iqbal.
