On the occasion of ‘Engineers Day-2022’, Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited (DPDC) has declared Power Service Week from Saturday, May 7 to Tuesday, May 12 to provide uninterrupted and quality electricity to the customers.
The service week was inaugurated on Saturday at a function held in the conference room of the DPDC head office at Bidyut Vaban.
During the service week, DPDC customers will be provided new connections expeditiously, meter and name change, electricity bill correction, prepaid meter card recharge and instant electricity related complaints will be received and resolved. In addition, customers will be made aware of electrical accidents by providing information. Customers will get these services instantly through 36 NOCS divisions of DPDC.
On the occasion of Engineers Day-2022, Arif Shahriar, Sub-Divisional Engineer (System Protection) was awarded Best Engineer-2022 through an overall evaluation of the engineers working in DPDC. The chief guest handed over the award and certificate to him.
Speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function presided over by DPDC Managing Director Engineer Bikash Dewan, Engineer Abdus Sabur, former President of Engineers Institution Bangladesh (IEB), urged the engineers to come forward to build a technology based country by facing the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
DPDC Managing Director Engineer Bikash Dewan highlighted the role of engineers in infrastructure development. He called upon the engineers to meet the challenges ahead and innovate and turn DPDC into a model power distribution company.
DPDC Executive Engineer (Design) Kazi Ashikur Rahman presented an essay titled ‘Role of Engineers as Managers’.
All the executive directors, chief engineers and senior officials of DPDC were present on the occasion. Officials from all levels of DPDC also attended the event via video conference.
