The sixth census will be held across the country from June 15 to 21. This time three lakh 95 thousand pieces of tabs will be used in this regard. Mobile phone operator Robi Axiata will provide SIM, network and internet facilities in each tab.
The agreement was signed between Robi and BBS in the BBS auditorium on Sunday (April 24). ‘Census and Household Census 2022’ project director (Deputy Secretary) said Md. Dildar Hossain and Robi’s Chief Enterprise Business Officer Md. Adil Hossain Nobel signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
While speaking as the chief guest at the signing ceremony, Dr. Shahnaz Arefin, Secretary of the Department of Statistics and Information Management said that the data of the previous five census was collected in the ledger. This time the census will be digital for the first time. This is the first time that foreigners residing in Bangladesh are being included in the census. At the same time, information of Bangladeshis living abroad will also be collected.
Project Director Md. Dildar Hossain said in the same tone that, the census will start digitally by using tabs. Robi will provide SIM, network and internet facilities for the census. We went one step ahead in the census.
BBS Director General Mohammad Tajul Islam and Robi Acting CEO M Riaz Rashid were also present at that time.
