Basis Soft Expo is being organized in a slightly different way this time in terms of crossing the boundaries and exceeding the export targets. Made in Bangladesh ‘New Technology’ solution will be showcased at this expo. That is why international participation is being ensured. In the meantime, several countries including India, Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, United Kingdom, Turkey are expected to participate. All in all, BASIS President Russell T. Ahmed is working to increase this number to more than ten.
But before that, he wants to increase the alliance of BASIS with the media to take the software industry of the country further ahead. As part of this, he wants to make this ‘mirror’ of the society a part of the BASIS family by organizing regular ‘chats’ out of the tradition of exchanging information based only on ‘press conferences’.
This was stated by the BASIS president during the first meeting held at a restaurant in Kawran Bazar on Sunday (April 24). He spoke in a very informal way with the news workers who attended the chat. At that time, while talking to Digi Bangla, Russell T. Ahmed informed about his journey to reach the goal. He said, everyone has a contribution to take an industry forward. Digital Bangladesh is not being implemented by the government alone; Apart from private entrepreneurs, journalists are also a part of this family. They have been playing a huge role in the advancement of Digital Bangladesh for the last 15-20 years. I think they are a part of our family as well. With this in mind, I will chat regularly in the future. I will do it again and again. Besides pointing out faults and errors, I also want to take knowledge from you. We want to move together. I would like to take this development journey forward by bridging the gap that has been created in the past.
In the chat, Bangladesh ICT Journalists Forum (BIJF) Vice President Nazneen Nahar, General Secretary Hasan Zakir, President of Technology Media Guild Bangladesh (TMGB) Mohammad Kawshar Uddin, former President of Diplomatic Correspondents Association (DCAB) Pantha Rahman and more than a hundred media workers.
Former Vice President of BASIS and Chairman of the Advisory Standing Committee M Rashidul Hasan, BASIS Director Tanvir Hossain Khan, BASIS Executive Director Abu Isa Md. Mainuddin and BASIS secretary Hashim Ahmed were also present.
