Since the split of Motorola in 2011, Motorola Solutions has been focusing on public safety and enterprise security products and services. Motorola Solutions has seen significant growth in video operations through multiple acquisitions in recent years.
Mahesh Saptarshi, Motorola’s software and mobile video CTO, said Calypsa technology will help in analyzing a lot of data using cloud-based AI in Motorola products such as end-to-end security solutions, camera technology and other features such as age verification of alcohol.
Calypso is capable of working with any server, with or without cameras, and with any service. The startup was founded in 2016 by a team from Cambridge, UCL and Imperial University in London.
