Apparently, there is no plan to hold an F8 developer conference, but it is not that the conference is not being held due to the pandemic situation. Rather, the company, which owns Facebook, has postponed the conference this year in preparation for Metavers. News Engadget.
Although the conference is not going to be held but the business messaging program Conversations, Connect and other developer presentations will be held at different times later in the year.
The F8 conference has not been held in direct attendance since 2019. Both F8 2020 and F8 2021 have been held online only because of the pandemic.
This is not the first time that Facebook has dropped out of the F8 conference. This conference was not held before in 2009, 2012 and 2013 also.
Last October, Facebook rebranded their company as Meta. The company is still in the early stages of developing Metavers targets and is developing related tools. If the developer conference is not held this year, Meta will have more time to finalize the strategy.
