Tesla delivered a record number of e-cars in the first quarter of this year. This number is more than three lakh 10 thousand. In marginal analysis, the growth is at least 70 percent compared to last year.
In a tweet, CEO Elon Musk said, “We have a ‘giga factory’ in China. There was a zero- tolerance policy due to the coronavirus situation. Despite such an ‘extremely difficult quarter’, this business growth has been achieved. This achievement is the outstanding contribution of the Tesla family and key suppliers.”
According to figures released over the weekend, Tesla delivered 310,048 vehicles from the beginning of this year to the end of March, up from 184,800 a year ago. Most of these deliveries have been to Tesla Model Three sedans and Model Y cars.
Earlier, Elon Musk had said that the Model Y, which was launched in 2019, would have a great cut – this is part of Tesla’s plan. It has a longer range of charges than the Model Three – which was launched two years ago.
The world’s most valuable car maker Tesla will release its full financial results on April 20.
The company has a Giga factory in Shanghai, where it makes cars as well as lithium-ion batteries. It was reported that the city was shut down after seeing an increase in coronavirus infections.
Tesla did not resume production at the site on Monday as planned, according to a report citing an internal memo. However, the agency did not respond to a request for comment.
