Expatriate Bangladeshis in North America showed interested investing in Bangladesh’s emerging technology industry. The Department of Information and Communication Technology is going to hold a conference titled “North American Bengali Conference-2022” to implement this investment interest in this regard.
A preparatory meeting was held in the conference room of the department on Saturday. State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak was the chief guest at the meeting. Bangladeshis living in the US have expressed such interest in the meeting.
The meeting was chaired by NM Zeaul Alam, Senior Secretary, ICT Department. ASM Shamsul Arefin, Chief Coordinator, Friends of Bangladesh Chapter; Milan Kumar Ayan, Chairman, North American Bengali Board of Trustee; Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, Managing Director, Bangladesh Hi-tech Park authority And senior officials of the ICT department were also present in the meeting.
It was informed at the meeting that the conference will build bridges with Bengali businessmen and Bangladeshi IT professionals in Bangladesh and North America. A digital platform will be set up to facilitate investment among traders.
Through the conference, Bangladesh’s position as a destination for innovative activities, mentoring of startups, coaching and especially Bangladeshi Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) business will be further strengthened. In addition, the way of communication between the Bangladeshi community in America will be facilitated by taking and implementing various activities to develop the talents and abilities of the young generation.
