“Ekushey’s spirit is not to bow down against injustice. And by using this consciousness we can eliminate inequality and build a society based on justice. There is no alternate other than Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to keep the progress ongoing. Due to the initiatives taken by her, people are now running office 24 hours a day; in the car, at home, in the country, from abroad through e-documents. That is why I have been able to perform the work on four files from the venue of this event on my mobile phone. Study going on through digital platforms. Business is going on. Even the Korbani (sacrificial animal) Hat has been online. 100 million people are transacting through mobile phones. Leader of the people Sheikh Hasina has delivered education scholarships to 13 million mothers. She bought 20 lakh mobile phones and supplied those secretly to two million mothers. Even, stood beside Tamanna in Jessore… how much her hearts cry for the country.”
The state minister said this while addressing a discussion meeting and award distribution function on the occasion of Great Language Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day at Singra Upazila Hall.
He said, “Bangla language has been raised high through three people/groups in the world. One of them was the Nobel laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore, the other was the language martyrs like Shafiur-Rafiq-Jabbar. And the third person was Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who delivered his speech in Bangla with his head held high in the UN session.”
Palak further said that in order to protect the new generation from the distortion of Bangla language i.e., Bangreji or Banglish, cultural practice like writing and reciting poems from an early age is required from childhood.
The event was presided over by Natore’s Singra Upazila Nirbahi Officer MM Samiul Islam. Upazila Education Officer Ali Ashraf, Municipal Mayor Jannatul Ferdous, Upazila Vice Chairman Kamrul Hasan Kamran, Shamima Haque Rozi and others were present in the function.
